Timothy obtained his Bachelor Degree in Science in Biochemistry at Hong Kong University of Science and Technology in the Year 2004. Then he received a Master Degree in Science at the same university in the Year 2006. After the thirteen-year working experience in the commercial field, he continued his academic journey, as a Ph.D. student under Dr. Gilman Siu’s guidance and supervision, in the Year 2019. During his study, his research focus was the application of Illumina next generation sequencing and nanopore sequencing for rapid drug resistance detection in Mycobacterium tuberculosis in respiratory samples and human immunodeficiency virus in plasma samples.
